Hello all, Please can I ask for some advice, my 2009 MacbookPro is not working, when switching it on the apple logo appears forever. I took it to an Apple store and asked them to try to take my files of the computer and put them onto an external hard drive, then try to fix it. They say they cannot retrieve my data (very upsetting) and that they cannot format it, as it won't find the partition thingy... They say it probably needs a new hard drive which will cost about £350 in total. I can't believe such an expensive machine has dies after only 5 years. My question is: Can I buy a hard drove myself for cheaper than what the Apple store will charge, and is it easy enough for me to install? What do I need to do? I'm not sure if it is worth paying £350 to have the machine revived. Thank you I did not find the right solution from the internet References : www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/can-i-fix-my-macbookpro-myself-617590/Compliance Management Solution Video
